Roger Roth entered Msgr. McClancy HS in September 1959 from Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Corona and as a freshman was placed on the track team. It was a fledgling track team under a new coach, Harry Howell, who developed the team into one of the most competitive and respected track teams in New York City. Monsignor McClancy offers a TACHS Preparation Course each Fall to give potential students an opportunity to prepare for the TACHS exam. This course is offered to 8th graders and taught by our experienced Math and English faculty members. The course consists of math, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary skills as well as test taking strategies.
